Yet again another fortunate black man has tossed his career out the window due to his severe lack of judgment (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/2008/12/01/2008-12-01_giants_suspend_troubled_receiver_plaxico.html). However, is all the excitement around it necessary??? Inquiring minds would not like, but love to know. It amazes me how our great mayor can state,"It will be a great outrage for Mr. Burress to be off of such severe charges". How interesting is that!!
Where's Mr. Bloomberg's disgust over the 6-foot-6 police officer who lifted a pedestrian and tossed him to the ground because the man punched the back of the officers car after he was almost ran over by that same officer??? How vehemently is he working on figuring out why tax payers are paying for the EZ Passes of City Officials? Where are his plans for putting an end to all the senseless cases of corrupt within this cities twisted system?? Why is he so eager to make an example of Plaxico for shooting himself (HTF does that happen homie??? Ever thought to check the safety, SMDH) with an unlicensed gun (Another bright idea)? Where's the same fire for prosecuting officers who every day abuse the power their given to protect us but end up inflicting the same pain their sworn in to prevent??
Two years ago a young man was killed on the eve of his wedding day in the most heinous way I've ever heard by officers who get to wake up everyday to see & touch their family, who get to see their children grow...To basically live their life freely all because they THOUGHT Sean Bell & his friends were going for guns. How hard is Bloomberg working on ending these senseless crimes committed by these officers who are paid by the people their protecting tax money?? Injustice against our black men will unfortunately continue to plague the lives of black men. However, it is up to US to finally take a stand to ensure things of this nature eventually CEASE!!!
I feel the fire has died since the passing of Sean Bell, but we need to continue the fight in order to protect our children and their children to come!! I agree, the Sean Bell excitement has definitely died down and that only supports the phrase "outta sight, outta mind". Something like that should not be forgotten. It's amazing how some of these cases slip through the cracks or simmer down quickly while others remain in the public eye.
Anyway, it's 12:52am right now and my television is on NY1. What are they talking about? Freakin' Plaxico. I wanna know too, trust me. Why is this all over? Why does my 5 year-old know about this?? Why is this on TV more than or just as much as the bus driver who got stabbed in Bed-Stuy?
Authorities clearly need to re-evaulate their priorities.

He deserves what he gets, stupid people who throw away their gifts for stupid things (IE: Jason Williams/Michael Vick/OJ) deserve to be made an example of. All that money & success and u end up shooting your own self in the foot. Might as well change this guy's name to Cheddar Bob.
